i am building a new facility that will have 2 approximately 1800 sf warm water pools that will be approximately 90-92 degrees just for adults 18 y.o. and up - i hope they are quieter than kids. the ceilings will be low - 12' - due to the cost of heating and dehumidification. i could use either a hollow core concrete or a metal ceiling. the walls are all 12" block with 6" of sprayed closed cell insulation due to being a superinsulated LEED building. outside this is brick. interior finish is epoxy paint.
i am thinking of spraying an acoustic foam - maybe 1" or so - on the underside of the ceiling which will be on steel joists. i am thinking of using 2" waterproof sound panels on the walls below the windows which are no lower than 6' from the floor. the double pane windows will also have a separate layer of acrylic for energy efficiency but this will also lower sound levels.
i am also thinking of using waterproof banners on the ceiling hanging from the joists.
the building will take care of veterans with tbi and ptsd and other handicapped adults.
any advice gratefully accepted and am willing to talk to companies who can do this work in nashville tn. i am the future owner and will be the specifier for every aspect of the building.

Glad to help. Probably best to share a phone conversation at 1-800-638-9355 and get all your answers taken care of. Controlling ambient sound reflections in a natatorium will require water resistant sound panels of some sort, wall or ceiling mounted, to eliminate as much echo as possible, and use rust proof hardware to mount materials into the room. The Clean Room Wall Panels and the VET Baffles are both featured here on our website, and can both trigger the values you seek. The key is quantities installed based on the size, shape and surface textures in your room.
