Just purchased a new GE Profile fridge. It's nice but is very loud when the compressor fans runs(which is almost all the time). Our kitchen opens to the living room and you can hear the fridge even while watching TV on the other side of the room.

It's in an alcove surrounded on all sides and there is room to put some sort of sound treatment around it.

What exactly do I need and how effective can I expect it to be? Ideally I'd like it to be almost silent but I'll be happy if the sound is reduced enough so I can't hear it from the living room.

Thanks for the help.

Joe
