1. I have kitchen cabinets on the far end of one of a common wall. From my understanding, I would have to bring down the cabinets, apply the db-block + drywall, and rehang them, since doing half of the common wall would defeat the purpose (I would imagine that kitchen cabinets / appliances transmit the sound just as much as anything else on the wall). If so, how would that affect the kitchen plumbing, etc? It doesn't sound like a do-it-yourself type of project. In the alternative, can I just apply the db-block and new dry wall only over the visible drywall in the kitchen area (i.e., above the kitchen cabinets only?) and save myself a lot of headache?

2. Same question as above re my master bathroom, where I don't want to remove the bath / sink. Also, my A/C closet is on a common wall and working in it would be very hard -- should I leave it as is?

3. how difficult is it to move the outlets to the new wall? Would cutting through the db-block and connecting the power outlets substantially defeat the sought dampening effect?

Thanks

Correct.    We didn't say it would be easy, but technically the correct procedure would be to "disconnect" your full contact points, including the wall supporting your cabinets, then line the assembly with the density of dB-Bloc, then a dead-air disconnecting technique, such as furring strips or channels, then new drywall.   Then re-attach the cabinets.   Even then, remember the "control" we are triggering will be good, but a "cure" doesn't exist.   Noise will always bleed somehow around the best applied treatments.   Floors, ceilings, outlet plates, sidewall vibrations, etc.   Good luck, call for help to 1-800-638-9355.
